Club`s top DIY tip of the week: If your hinges are getting a bit squeaky, use Vaseline over the hinge, letting it work in as you open and close the door. Vaseline won't run like oil so there will be very little mess at all.

How To Build a Great Braai |
|
|
Having a braai is a favourite summer activity and a great way to spend time with your family and friends. If you’re challenged in the fire-making department, here are seven easy steps to make you a pro in 15 minutes.
- Shred up some old newspapers or magazines (except, of course, Club Magazine, which you’re storing in folders for future reference), and put the shreds in a small pile.
- Add small sticks and firelighters to the pile.
- Create a frame out of thicker sticks. Some people go for a Square Tower structure; we prefer the Flaming Teepee formation.
- Light the fire.
- Add thicker sticks and logs as the coals start to heat up.
- When the flames are low and coals are glowing, put the meat on the braai grid.
- Go fetch a drink, and ask the girls how the salad’s going.
