Tuna pie

Serves 6

Ingredients:
  • 5 slices bread, crusts removed
  • 1 can of tuna in brine, drained
  • 400ml cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 5ml baking powder
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 40ml butter, melted
  • 300ml milk
  • 1 roll puff pastry


Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180ºC.
  2. Break up bread into small pieces.
  3. Mix together bread, tuna, cheese, onion, eggs and milk.
  4. Heat the mixture on a low heat stirring constantly.
  5. Put the baking powder in and then pour the mixture into an ovenproof dish.
  6. Spread the puff pastry over the top and pinch the pastry all along the sides. Brush with butter and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve with salad and potato wedges.
